Adoptive Parent Regulations
Age & Marital Status
Prospective adoptive parents must be
age 21 and up.
The maximum age difference between
adoptive parents and adopted children
cannot exceed 45 years.
Married a minimum of 3 years.
No more than 2 previous marriages.
Prospective adoptive parents must be
physically fit and mentally stable.
Household
There are no noted restrictions on
the number of children residing in the
home.
Processing Time & Travel
Application to Placement:
Anywhere from 12 – 16 months.
Prospective adoptive parents are
required to travel abroad to pick up the
child.
One trip with an average stay of 3-4
weeks.
