Adoptive Parent Regulations
Age & Marital Status
Prospective adoptive parents must be between the ages of 25 and 44.
Married a minimum of 3 years.
No more than 1 previous marriage per spouse.
Both prospective adoptive parents must have completed their high school education.
Prospective adoptive parents must be physically fit and mentally stable, having no serious medical conditions and be no more than 30% overweight.
Household
The prospective adoptive family must have no more than 4 children in the home.
Minimum annual income: $35,000
Processing Time & Travel
Application to Placement: Anywhere from 12 – 14 months.
One prospective adoptive parent is required for traveling abroad to pick up the child. One trip with an average stay of 5 days.
